25th International Organ Festival - Přemysl Kšica
Přemysl Kšica studied the organ at the Prague Conservatoire, later graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts under J. Popelka. He also studied abroad - at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart under L. Lohmann. He also studied conducting at the Conservatoire in Teplice under J. Valta. He attended the classes of organ improvisation under J. Vodrážka, J. Tůma and J. Mayr. He took part in a number of masterclasses led by outstanding artists, e.g. L. Ghielmi, O. Latry and G. Kaunzinger. He is a holder of many awards from various organ competitions, e.g. improvisation prizes from the Organ Competition in Opava (three times), 3rd Prize at the International Competition of Young Organists in Ljubljana (Slovenia, 2004), 2nd Prize at the Organ Competition in Most (CZE, 2005), 2nd Prize at the Petr Eben International Organ Competition in Opava (2010). He has been a church organist for many years; currently he is an organist of St. Nicolas Church in Prague – Lesser Town. He is a teacher of the organ at the Conservatoire in Teplice. He has given concerts in the Czech Republic as well as abroad (Europe, Russia, China), either as a soloist or in cooperation with instrumental ensembles and choirs.
