One of top things to see in Prague – the Black Light Theatre. Black Light Theatre Metro stands out from other black light theatres in Prague because of their unique and patented technology. With their performances the theatre have been successful both at home and abroad; traveling to many countries to share their original shows.
The theatre was founded already in 1970´s by renowned artist – František Kratochvíl – the father of his performances - sculptor, painter, graphic designer, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, but also actor, screenwriter, director and set designer. František Kratochvíl started his practice at another Black Light theatre artist – Jiří Srnec to be able to set his own performances after one decade of experience. František Kratochvíl found always inspiration in the women around him, which resulted into performances as Anatomy of the Kiss or Miss Sony in 1990´s.
"DEJA VU" performance is the latest premiere held in the Metro Theatre - in June 2014. The motto of this performance is a quote by Albert Einstein - "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots." The new concept of the original Black Light Theatre seriously and humorously deals with the contemporary lifestyle. It shows how modern communication technology controls a human destiny. It depicts a human life in a humorous way, poetically and truthfully without words using only the visual elements of a black light theatre, dance, pantomime and music.
Black Light Theatre Metro is the only theatre in Prague to reveal their secrets – by allowing audience members to participate in a post-performance workshop.
