25th International Organ Festival - David Cassan

DAVID CASSAN - Winning ten prestigious international organ competitions (e.g. Chartres, St. Albans, Haarlem) has launched the distinguished artistic career of David Cassan, one of the most sought-after French organists. He studied at the Conservatoire in Caen and at the Conservatoire National Supérier de Musique in Paris and Lyon under the guidance of professors such as T. Escaich, P. Pincemaille, Ph. Lefebvre, F. Espinasse, J. F. Zygel and E. Le Prado. As a soloist he has given concerts in numerous concert halls, cathedrals and festivals in France and many countries of Europe, Russia, Iceland, China and Israel. He has cooperated with a number of leading orchestras, chamber ensembles and choirs. The critique has highly valued primarily his outstanding interpretation of music of J. S. Bach and French composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. His improvisation concerts are highly impressive and truly original. Interestingly, he enjoys accompanying silent films by the organ or piano. He has been regularly invited to lead international masterclasses (Petersburg, Beijing, Bern, Milan, Paris and others) and to the jury boards of organ competitions. He teaches the organ at the Conservatoire in Nancy and improvisation at the Conservatoire in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. Mr Cassan is a titular organist of the Protestant church l´Oratoire du Louvre in Paris.
