During your visit to Prague, we will be visiting major highlights, e.g. Prague Castle, the Lesser Town, Charles Bridge and the Old Town.
From our meeting point, we will first walk up to Prague Castle, where we will explore the largest castle complex in the world, parts of which date back to the end of the 9th Century. We will “travel” throughout the centuries, and you will see some Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and also modern architecture and hear the stories about things that have happened there. We will see all three courtyards, maybe also parts of the interior of St. Vitus’ cathedral, where our rulers were crowned and many of them are also buried, we will walk through the Old Royal Palace and the 10th Century St. George Basilica, and many other historical sites. The Castle is not only the former seat of our kings and queens, but also the present-day presidential residence. Nevertheless, considerable parts of the castle are open to the public.
From Prague Castle, we will continue in our walk through parts of the picturesque Lesser Town – which you should explore further in the course of your visit. We will then head for mediaeval Charles Bridge, our “open air gallery”, where you can admire the Gothic bridge and Baroque statues. Your guide will tell some stories about the bridge and the statues.
After crossing Charles Bridge we will be ready to enter the Old Town of Prague and take a walk through the mediaeval lanes, and also along the Royal route, which our kings and queens used to take.
The tour will end in the Old Town Square in front of our splendid City hall, with its unique and world famous Astronomical clock.
