During this tour you will get familiar with the history of Czech Jews from their arrival to our territory in 10th Century, listen to tells and stories from the ghetto which was in Prague ́s territory between 13th - 18th Centuries, you will get learn the stories about Golem, Rabi Low, Mordechai Maisel and his synagogues etc. The tour will take you into four synagogues which for centuries were used by Jews, as Maisel synagogue with in depth history of Jews in Bohemian kingdom, Pinkas synagogue, where today is displayed Museum of Holocaust with 78 000 names of Czech Jewish victims, you will see also truly unique and still preserve Old Jewish Cemetery from 15th Century with over 100 thousands of graves, visit as well baroque Klaus synagogue, which narrates about Jewish holidays or will see the beauty of charming 19 hundred Spanish synagogue decorated in Moorish style etc. We also will discuss the history of 20th century as WW II and so on.

Franz Kafka Square, Old Town of Prague in front of the bust of Franz Kafka (the meeting point is just of the Old Town Square from the side of St. Nicola church. The Franz Kafka Square then continue into Kaprova and Maiselova Streets.

How to get there?

Our meeting point for this tour is this time on the right side river bank, in Franz Kafka Square, Old Town of Prague in front of the bust of Franz Kafka located on a corner building. The meeting point is just off NW corner of the Old Town Square from the side of St. Nicola church. The Franz Kafka Square then continue into Kaprova and Maiselova Streets. Reachable by the public transportation by the metro A (green) – Staroměstská metro station or the trams as 2, 17 or 18, also Staroměstská stop, following then 5 minute Kaprova Street. The guide will be holding the FEBS 2019 International Conference sign.
