Hidden fancy beauty! That’s alternative indication for ancient left hand side river bank district which was first settled already during 11th Century, known today in English as Lesser Town, Little Quarter or in Czech language as Malá Strana. Its current appearance is from majority baroque. It is enchanting mix of palaces, gardens, churches, impressive architecture, art, frescos or sculptures. Lesser Town is definitely representative and residential district where you can find the embassies, both chambers of our parliament, baroque gardens etc. During our leisure tour we will hear the stories about The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Diplomatic Mission Of The Sovereign Order Of Malta, bishops, Infant Jesus of Prague, how it was originally with John Lennon´s wall, Francois Mitterrand and Václav Havel as a dissident still in 1988, Jesuits in Lesser Town or Eastern Germans in summer 1989 and what is our connection with the fall of Berliner wall. You will see also water mill in Čertovka channel with its legends and fairytales. We will have time for a coffee and cake in one special historical family confectionery. The second part of the tour will take us to Kampa peninsula, Prague Venice and especially detailed explanation of Charles bridge with its statues as opened air gallery.

How to get there?

Malostranská metro station next to small fountain and Tabaco booth
Malostranská metro station as our meeting point is situated in left hand side riverbank as traffic part of the district Malá Strana, e.g. Lesser Town or Little Quarter. The nearest bridge is Mánesův most, the meeting point is also not too far from Charles Bridge. We will meet in a street level opposite to the entrance to the metro (underground, subway), Malostranská metro station is part of A (= green) line. The trams, which you can use to arrive here, are 2, 12, 15, 18, 20, 22 and 23. The guide will be standing just next to small fountain, but also the tobacco kiosk. The guide will hold FEBS 2019 International Conference sign.
