Prague Castle is a unique historical and cultural site connected with Czech history and the present, a
symbol of Czech statehood. Originally it was a residence of Czech monarchs, a place of royal
coronations. The coronation jewels are kept at the Prague Castle – precious Christian relics, unique
work of art and historical documents. Today the Prague Castle is the seat of the head of state and the
most frequently visited sight in Czech Republic.
The Prague Castle premises comprise palaces, clerical buildings, courts and gardens. Prague Castle
belongs among the largest continuous castle complexes in the world and is recorded in UNESCO
World Heritage list.

Hradčanské náměstí Square next to the statue of president Masaryk
For the arriving for Prague castle tour, please, pay attention, where exactly meet the guide. You have to find Hradčanské náměstí Square and make sure, that you are in front of the Main entrance to Prague castle. Then you should easily find the statue of our president Masaryk. You might walk here uphill via New castle steps from south or also on foot by means of Nerudova Street with lots of restaurants, or from western direction from Loreta and Pohořelec. Another option is to take the tram 22 or 23 up to the stop Pražský hrad, turn left from the tram with the other visitors, cross the street, after about 50 m you will pass through security control, after that walk straight ahead up to 2nd courtyard and there turn to the right for 1st courtyard (= the Main entrance), from which you already will see Hradčanské náměstí Square with the statue of president Masaryk, where your guide is awaiting you with the FEBS 2019 International Conference sign.
